HEATHCOTE - Heathcote Wine Region

Heathcote

Although a relatively new wine region, Heathcote is fast developing a reputation for producing some of the best Shiraz in the country as well as high quality varieties such as Malbec, Merlot, Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon. In fact the area is considered equal to, if not greater than, any other Australian wine region.

The town has preserved its past with streets of bull nose verandas and grand Victorian architecture. Restaurants, bed & breakfasts, hotels and cafés now command the town centre, and are supportive of the local produce with some offering wine tastings and sales.

Although many of the Heathcote wineries are small, family owned businesses, their numbers are growing, ensuring Heathcote continues to make its mark on the domestic and global market.

Heritage buildings, spectacular views, antiques and crafts, galleries, bushwalking, National and State Parks are all within easy reach. Come and enjoy the good food, local wines, sunshine and fresh country air that the Heathcote region has to offer.
